Night

 
I walk at night.
Feeling my way through
darkened paths
Peering into lives
I’ve never met
Cloaked figures
behind
satin curtains resting
on matchiing sofas
drinking tea
or booze
Blues of electronic
light flicker
images of make believe
while the sky darkens to hues of
loneliness
Slits of light pierce
the indigo sky
Footsteps split the quiet solitude of my
pounding heart
